Counting down the days

Our remaining time before climbing on a plane to Nicaragua is no longer being counted in weeks.  It's just days away.  Thanks to incredible organization from our trip leaders, we've had several team meetings to get to know each other, and to plan the trip.  And yet it feels as if we could have used more.

God willing, we will host two children's weekend camps while there.  By hosting, I mean we're responsible for the whole thing!  Planning activities, providing materials, paying for the children to come, caring for the kids ... although, thank goodness, the camp staff are going to plan and manage the food.  So we've spent the weeks in preparation by planning skits, science projects, sports activities, chapel services, etc.  I think we're all feeling it's coming together well, but we're glad we have a couple of days to prepare "in place" at the camp too.

We've each been preparing spiritually as well.  We have a set of 14 devotions that we're working on day by day to prepare our hearts to be knit together as teammates, with 14 other people that we're asking God to turn into family during our trip.  And we're all praying with great expectation to see what He is going to do in Nicaragua while we are there!
